PRESENTATION: Automating Data Protection and Disaster Recovery in a Virtualized Environment

Synopsis:

In light of our recent power outage, this presentation and demonstration will focus on some techniques for performing quick and automated Disaster Recovery. The techniques will emphasize some of the latest storage technologies such as iSCSI SANs and VMWare's Site Recovery Manager and will discuss the benefits of virtualization in such scenarios. The presentation will include a live demo showing the recovery of a site.

Speaker: 

Tim Francisco manages the Southern California and Hawaii for Dell Equallogic. Prior to Dell Tim managed the western area for Network File Virtualization company Neopath Networks (acquired by Cisco) and EMC. Tim helped launch the western area for iSCSI storage startup StoneFly Networks in 2002.
